PRIVACY & SECURITY
This page is maintained by the Piracy organisers to answer common questions about how your information is handled when you register for an event. It is editable project content — not an independent certification.
WHAT WE COLLECT
When you register we collect your name, email, date of birth, phone number and a photo or PDF of a government-issued ID. You provide this information directly through the form on this site.
WHY WE COLLECT IT
Your details are used solely to verify identity, manage the guest list, and share event-access details with verified attendees. We do not sell or share your information with third parties for marketing.
HOW IT IS STORED
- Form submissions are stored in a managed Postgres database with row-level security enabled.
- Database reads are restricted: only the backend service role (used by the admin panel after access-code verification) can query submissions.
- ID files are uploaded to a private storage bucket. Files are not publicly accessible; the admin panel views them via short-lived signed links.
- All traffic to and from this site is served over HTTPS.
WHO CAN SEE YOUR DATA
Only the Piracy organisers, after entering an admin access code, can view submissions and ID files. The website itself cannot read your submission back — once submitted, retrieval requires that access code.
RETENTION
Submissions and ID files are retained for the duration needed to administer the relevant event and are removed when no longer required. Contact us to request earlier deletion of your record.
YOUR RIGHTS
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you submitted by contacting the organisers. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
SHARED RESPONSIBILITY
The hosting platform provides the underlying database, authentication, storage, and TLS infrastructure. The Piracy organisers are responsible for how submissions are used, who is granted admin access, and how long records are kept.
SECURITY CONTACT
If you believe you have found a security or privacy issue, please contact the event organisers via the channels listed alongside the registration form.
